Flexport, the global leader in supply chain technology, has officially announced the launch of more than 20 tech and AI-powered products, each one well-equipped to transform the landscape of global logistics.
According to certain reports, the stated assortment of products is markedly headlined by the introduction of Flexport Intelligence, which makes it possible for businesses across the board to ask questions in natural language and receive immediate insights about their supply chain performance.
You see, customers can actively rely upon the given solution to build reports and create dashboards with no technical skills required, thus helping operations managers take control of their global supply chains.
Joining that would be the launch of Flexport Control Tower, a solution designed to let businesses leverage Flexport’s supply chain technology even for shipments where another carrier or forwarder is contracted to move the freight.
Talk about these two solutions on a slightly deeper level, we begin from Flexport Intelligence. This particular solution arrives on the scene bearing an ability to consolidate fragmented data into easily accessible, actionable insights.
The company is also poised to unveil a new-look for its Demand Planning and Inventory Placement solution. Moving forward, the given technology will be able to use advanced AI models to process a multitude of client and industry data points, and therefore, optimize inventory distribution across the Flexport network, ensuring the right levels of inventory is allocated as close to consumer demand as possible.
“By launching these powerful new AI-driven supply chain products to thousands of companies around the world, Flexport has immediately become the largest provider of AI tools for global supply chains,” said Ryan Petersen founder and CEO of Flexport. “While many startups are emerging to provide AI tools for logistics, they lack the data required to train the AI models and struggle to sign up customers to use their technology. Our scale as one of the largest logistics providers in the world gives us huge advantages in both creating the technology and getting it into the hands of businesses.”
Turning our attention towards Flexport Control Tower, it is a solution built around the objective of giving businesses real-time visibility and control over their entire logistics network, even on freight not managed by Flexport. At launch, the stated technology has all the means to provide end-to-end visibility across the entire supply chain from order creation to final delivery.
Next up, we must dig into Flexport’s industry’s first real-time pricing engine for all-in, door-to-door and ocean freight services. Thanks to this engine, users can seamlessly search, compare, and book freight across multiple modes so to reduce wait times for quotes from hours to seconds.
Another detail worth a mention here is rooted in the company’s all-new supply chain messaging product, which enables a seamless experience for clients when it comes down to communicating across their supply chain teams through one secure gateway.
Alongside that, the Flexport Platform has also made major upgrades to its visibility and notification features that now include fail-safe mechanisms to detect delays, more accurately predict delivery schedules, and improve shipment tracking.
Hold on, we still have a few bits left to unpack, considering we haven’t yet touched upon Flexport’s decision to launch a new dropshipping solution, which would be an e-commerce fulfillment solution that allows brands to sell across 50+ major retailer websites.
Complementing that would be the release of an international parcel shipping offering, meant to help merchants sell globally.
Finally, Flexport is now also integrated with Managed Markets on platforms like Shopify and Passport. This should simplify global expansion and provide integrated customs, transparent pricing, and reliable delivery for parcel shipments across well over 200 countries around the world.
“Flexport has been leveraging AI for years, but with the explosion of large language models and new open-source tech, we’re able to innovate faster than ever before,” said Petersen. “AI is incorporated throughout the new products and features you’ll see today. Our vision is to make global commerce as simple and reliable as flipping a light switch, and today’s technology release is the clearest sign that we’re well on our way.”
