New digital systems are expected to improve planning, inventory management, automation, and order fulfillment across the company
Boston, Massachusetts, 12 August 2026 – Clorox is strengthening its supply chain through a major enterprise resource planning (ERP) upgrade designed to improve planning, inventory management, automation, and order fulfillment.
The company began moving its U.S. supply chain and other operations to the new ERP platform in 2025 as part of a broader five-year digital transformation program worth about $500 million. The transition faced some challenges, including disruptions in demand fulfillment and higher costs, but Clorox now expects the system to deliver greater efficiency.
The upgraded ERP platform provides better visibility across supply chain activities and reduces reliance on manual processes and spreadsheets. It is designed to help teams respond faster to changes in customer demand, coordinate production, manage inventory, and improve order-to-cash activities.
Inventory management is another key focus. Better demand planning and real-time business information can help Clorox maintain the right inventory levels while reducing unnecessary storage and operating costs.
Automation is also expected to improve efficiency by reducing repetitive tasks and allowing employees to focus more on planning and decision-making. For a large consumer goods company, these improvements can influence manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, and customer service.
Clorox’s experience shows that ERP modernization can be complex, but it can also create a stronger foundation for long-term supply chain resilience. With better data, automation, and connected processes, the company aims to build a more flexible and responsive supply chain.
