Writing a Smarter Growth Story for the Global Logistics Industry

Descartes Systems Group, the global leader in uniting logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, is officially set to showcase innovations for transportation management; routing, mobile and telematics; freight forwarders, customs brokers, and air cargo at its 2024 Innovation Forum event, which will take place between October 8-10, 2024 in Chicago.

Talk about these innovations on a slightly deeper level, we begin from the company’s Transportation Management Solutions, a segment where attendees can come expecting, for starters, a system dedicated towards fraud prevention and advanced security. This particular system will safeguard customers whenever they ship freight, thus empowering them to move goods without any worry.

Next up, Descartes will show a technology capable of delivering Big Data–enabled insights. The company will basically do so to improve collaboration, agility, and overall supply chain performance. Moving on, there are also going to be solutions focused on advanced process automation, solutions that can optimize the productivity of knowledge workers.

Another area of focus is going to be interoperability and network reach. Descartes is looking to scale things up around here by bringing to the fore a single point of access for increased control and scale. Then, there is a prospect concerned with realizing ease-of-use, end-user adoption, and engagement enhancements that can go a long distance in the context of accelerating time-to-value and improving final outcomes.

Beyond transportation management solutions, Descartes will further introduce its Route Planning & Execution, Driver Safety, and Customer Experience technology. In essence, this technology will promise greater interoperability for more efficient and cohesive workflows that, on their part, can improve customer satisfaction.

Markedly enough, the company is also poised to introduce an AI angle here. Such an angle will try and enhance safety compliance, while simultaneously refining route plans and how they’re executed. Having referred to the bid for a refined route, we must mention how Descartes will also conceive route optimization benchmarking for better delivery performance. Complimenting that same would be the presence of next-generation strategic route planning to create accuracy and responsiveness.

To round off the whole event, Descartes will further put on display its assortment of Broker, Forwarder, Customs & Air solutions. These solutions will enhance digitization and automation to increase operational efficiencies and help companies scale in a rather seamless fashion. Next up, they will increase de minimis compliance and security which facilitates legitimate trade. Hold on, we are not done yet, considering we haven’t touched on the fact that people who attend this event can also expect to see advanced tracking capabilities specifically conceived to improve shipment and customer visibility. Apart from that, they are likely to come across expanded integrations with ocean and air carriers, something which should enable centralized access to more booking options.

“In a time with many logistical challenges and opportunities, Descartes is focused on bringing leading software solutions and capabilities to market to help our global customer base drive higher levels of supply chain efficiency, security, resilience and competitive advantage,” said Ken Wood, Executive Vice President, Product Management at Descartes Systems Group. “This event not only gives us an opportunity to share our latest technology advancements with customers, partners and industry leaders, it also creates a unique forum to explore new trends and strategies shaping the industry with a diverse group of logistics professionals.”

Founded back in 1981, Descartes’ rise up the ranks stems from being the global leader in providing on-demand, software-as-a-service solutions focused on improving the productivity, security and sustainability of logistics-intensive businesses.
