A new demonstration space in Porcari gives manufacturers a closer look at automated material handling, mobile robots, warehouse systems, and connected software
Porcari, Italy, 7 October 2026 – Automation is changing the way factories move materials, manage warehouses, and connect production activities. To help manufacturers understand what these technologies can achieve in real working environments, Smartlogistix has opened a permanent intralogistics automation showroom at its new headquarters in Porcari, Lucca.
The showroom, which opens during MIAC 2026 from October 7 to 9, has been designed as more than a display area. Visitors can see automation technologies operating in real applications, speak with specialists, and explore how different systems can work together to improve the movement of materials across a facility.
The facility brings together automated guided vehicles, autonomous mobile robots, material handling equipment, warehouse solutions, and software platforms. The objective is to demonstrate how these technologies can be connected into a single workflow rather than being used as separate systems.
One of the key areas focuses on automated vehicles. Among the solutions on display is the new JUPITER Board, developed for material handling in the corrugated board industry and integrated with a Fosber unwinder. Visitors can also see Smartlogistix’s PLUTO range, along with AMR X and AMR FX autonomous mobile robots. A dedicated section also demonstrates how existing vehicles can be upgraded through hardware and software improvements, helping companies extend the useful life of equipment.
Another part of the showroom highlights material handling and end of line automation. Demonstrations include an automated reel packaging system designed for tissue, paper, and nonwovens applications, connected with an AGV. A palletizing application featuring Mac Due Impianti’s PALL&PLAY system is also combined with an AMR X robot.
This approach reflects a growing need for connected factory operations. Instead of treating production, storage, transportation, and packaging as separate stages, manufacturers can use automation to create a smoother flow of materials from one process to another.
Software is another important part of the showroom. Smartlogistix presents digital platforms designed to monitor, coordinate, and manage intralogistics activities. Its solutions support real time visibility, warehouse management, production logistics, and coordination between different technologies and systems.
For manufacturers exploring smart factory technology, the showroom offers an opportunity to understand automation through practical demonstrations rather than concepts alone. It also provides a space where companies can consider gradual automation strategies based on their individual production and logistics requirements.
As factories become more connected, solutions such as AGVs, AMRs, automated warehouses, material handling systems, and industrial software are expected to play a larger role in improving efficiency, safety, traceability, and operational flexibility. Smartlogistix’s new showroom brings these technologies together under one roof, offering visitors a practical view of how the next generation of intralogistics can operate.
